Saudi Arabian Minister of Economy and Planning hosted by MUNER, UNIBO and UNIMORE faculties at the Department of Engineering Enzo Ferrari

On June 4, 2024, we had the great honor of hosting His Excellency Faisal F. Alibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning of Saudi Arabia, at the Department of Engineering Enzo Ferrari (DIEF) of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE). The visit included distinguished faculty from MUNER, UNIBO and UNIMORE, underscoring our commitment to fostering global collaboration in advanced engineering and mobility solutions.

The visit, organized by the National Made in Italy Cluster, showcased the regional cluster system at the forefront of the textile, furniture and automotive sectors in Saudi Arabia, with significant support from Clust-ER Mech.

During the visit, we presented MUNER – Motorvehicle University of Emilia-Romagna and MOST (National Center for Sustainable Mobility) projects, highlighting our region’s innovation in connected and autonomous vehicles and lightweight materials. The delegation also visited the Automotive Academy labs at UNIMORE and the university’s startup labs at MillEmilia, where they witnessed groundbreaking projects in high-performance chassis design, additive manufacturing technologies, innovative propulsion systems, and autonomous vehicle development.

The day concluded with a light lunch to foster discussions on potential future collaborations. This visit underlines the strategic importance of Emilia-Romagna region in the international research and technological development landscape.
