For students aiming a career as design and manufacturing engineers, experts in the development of high-performance propulsion systems.

The Advanced Powertrain (AP) curriculum is part of the Master’s Degree in Advanced Automotive Engineering (AAE).

This curriculum offers two different specializations, both aimed at students who wish to pursue careers as design and manufacturing engineers, experts in the development of high-performance propulsion systems with a focus on internal combustion engines and hybrid propulsion systems.

  • The first specialization, held at the Bologna campus, focuses on internal combustion engine and hybrid powertrain modeling and control, powertrain testing, calibration and homologation. The first semester of the first academic year is common to the other curricula of the Master in Advanced Automotive Engineering and is held at the Department of Engineering Enzo Ferrari (Modena Campus). Starting from the second semester of the first academic year, all courses will be held at the Department of Industrial Engineering (Bologna Campus).
  • The second specialization, held at the Modena campus, focuses on the design and modeling of high-performance combustion systems, with particular emphasis on FEM and CFD calculations. it is held entirely at the Department of Engineering Enzo Ferrari (Modena Campus).
